Man Shot in Leg During Argument in Burlington

Burlington, WA – Officers from the  Sedro-Woolley Police Department responded to United General Hospital around 3:02 am on November 1st, 2016 for a 28-year old man who had just walked into the Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to a release from Burlington Police Community Resource Officer Mike Lumpkin, further investigation revealed that both parties had been drinking at a residence in the 600 block  of E. Rio Vista Avenue in Burlington.

At some point during the night, an argument broke out between the two men.  During the argument one of the men retrieved a gun and shot the other in the leg.    Officers served a search warrant and recovered the gun believed to have been used in the assault.

 The suspect is in custody and has been booked into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of Assault 1st degree (Domestic Violence).
